The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen has created a Marks Division Subject for the SSC Part 2 10th Arts Group. This decision was taken during a meeting chaired by the federal minister for education and professional training, Shafqat Mahmood. The ongoing situation of the coronavirus pandemic and the need to facilitate the students were taken into consideration before deciding to hold examinations for Class 10 elective subjects.
The Marks Division Subject has been designed to ensure that each SSC subject is taught across both the classes SSC Part 1 and Part 2. At the SSC level, students can choose from the Science group and Humanities group subjects. The form of conduct of practicals is subject to endorsement by the Government.

The elective subjects of 10th-class students in biology are:

It is important to note that the subjects a student decides to study in this class will be like the first step of their educational ladder. The students from all Boards of Education are required to study the same course and syllabus until 8th class. From 9th class onwards, they can choose their own future fields according to their interests. It is mandatory for every school to follow this Marks Division Subject Wise distribution.
