French Open: Sania Mirza-Mahesh Bhupathi in final, Paes-Vesnina knocked out


Paris: India `s Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi reached his maiden French Open mixed doubles final, but Leander Paes and his Russian partner Elena Vesnina was eliminated from the event on Wednesday.


Mirza and Bhupathi beat Galina Voskoboeva and Danielle Bracciali 6-4, 6-2 to enter the mixed doubles final. They will face the combined Polish Klaudia Jans mexcian Ignacik and Gonzalez-Santiago, in the clash of title at Roland Garros.


The seeded pair of Klaudia and James caused an upset defeat dreadful fifth-seeded pair of Paes and Vesnina 7-6 (7-2), 6-3.


Meanwhile, earlier in the day, the seventh-seeded pair of Bhupathi and Mirza beat the Kazakh-Italian couple and Bracciali Voskoboeva in a battle that lasted less than 70 minutes.
